School-age children are still children – continuing to grow physically, emotionally/socially, cognitively and linguistically. But as they develop, 5- to 13-year-olds crave peer connection and information about the adult world, so they thrive on friendships, alliances, challenges and responsibility.
Upper Room Academy’s After-School Program offers your student a comfortable, low-ratio group atmosphere with learning centered around the accomplishments of the world’s greatest innovators and leaders. Themes and projects link interdisciplinary activities in your child’s interest areas.
Homework Lab
Every day, students have scheduled homework time to begin or complete homework assignments. Our knowledgeable instructors understand how important homework is and work with students to get through it – including providing access to approved reference tools.
Math & Literacy Club
A special area of your student’s classroom is designated and designed to support and inspire children’s love of reading and math. Featuring a vocabulary word of the day, book reading challenge, journal writing and math game rotations, the Math & Literacy Club gives your child the chance to win ribbons for successes in these fun and educational activities.
Junior Genius Zone
Each classroom also features exploration areas with state-of-the-art computers, math concept games, and activities based upon scientific thinking and inquiry. Students challenge each other to higher levels of learning using experiments, magnets and puzzles.
